NGC 4216 & friends

This image is from same night than M51. In this area, there is so many dim edge on galaxys for some reason. At the time I shoot this group, the elevation was low, between 24-30 degrees. That has some effect to the sharpness, but there is still some details visible in central galaxy. Just above NGC 4216, there is a Bluish object. I was not able to recodnice it. It could be a comet? At the time span of 2h 45min. it does not appear to move, or it moves very small amount. (I think there is some minor trailing visible in the closeup image) Exposures: 11 x 900s = 2h 45min. + Flat and Bias farmes Telescope: LX200 GPS 12" + FR f6.4 Guiding: SXV-AO and LodeStar guider Object I ment in previous text is marked here with lines UPDATE: This is fast! I just uploaded the image to the Cloudy Nights forum and right a way FrankZ posted information about this object! "TheSky 6 tells me that this is IC 771 (PGC 39176)! Type is spiral galaxy. Found in the Catalog of principal galaxies (PGC)." Thanks a lot Frank!

M51, Whirlpool Galaxy

M51 is a bright (as a deepsky object) galaxy located in Canes Venatici. Distance from my home town Oulu is about 23 miljon light-years.

I had hard time with dimmer parts doe the light pollution, IDAS LP filter helpped some, tough. Image is scaled down 50%.
-
Exposures: 12 x 900s =3h
- Telescope: Meade LX200 GPS 12"
- Guiding: SXV-AO, active optics unit and LodeStar guider.

NGC 2683 "Sanp shot"

This is a dim galaxy in constellation Lynx.
I managed to capture less than two hours of data before
the clouds rolled in.
There is some details visible in the core.
LX200 GPS 12" and QHY8
Guided with SXV-AO and LodeStar camera
IDAS LP filter
10 x 660s + Flats and Bias frames
IRIS Drizzle function was used to bring out some details.
(Light pollution more or les destroy this image.)

M82 Galaxy with & without H-alpha light

Details: Guiding with active optics, SXV-AO with single shot QHY8 cooled 6mb astrocamera. Platform, LX200 GPS 12"@f6.3 Exposures: RGB with IDAS LP filter, 11x900s. 6x1200 + 6x2400s with 7nm H-alpha filter. Same galaxy but without H-alpha information. 11x900s with IDAS LP filter

DS images from 2004-07

Older DS images from 2005-7
M31 is beautiful and very problematic target. Large angular size, low surfage brightness and large dynamic range combined to heavily light polluted location, is not a good combination. Anyhow, here is the result this time. I really need a darker location. SW80ED and QHY8 guiding LX200+QHY5+PHD-guiding 4h total exposure time.
M33 is adifficult target from light polluted evnironment.I use four hours of exposures for this. Noise porblem and very low S/N are coused by LP. SW80ED QHY8, guided with LX200+QHY5+PHD-guiding
I had some extra time, so i went trough my archives. Here it is famous 17P/Holmes. At the time it was easy to spot with naked eye. Two hours of exposures with QHY8 and SW80ED.

M13

My very first DS image ever.
I was very proud, that I was able to see spiral arms
in my picture! Image is taken in Alt/Az mode acd there was
only 12x30s subs, no guiding.

NGC3718, thanks for solving it Philipp
