This material is made by reprojecting 2D-images to a 3D-surface.
Then this 3D-model is animated to a movie file.
In the result, we can select an other vantage point from the Space
and see an old target from a new perspective!

A trip to Andromeda
I did an other simple animation from 2D-image, this time the Great Galaxy of Andromeda.
The idea is to show how this Galaxy looks like if we are able to travel outside of our home Galaxy.

The speed in the animation is many many times of the speed of light.
The real distance to Andromeda Galaxy is about two million Light Years.
Fly me to the Moon!
I recently bought a private Lunar orbiter to shoot some videos from the Moon!!!
It's much like a KAGUYA (SELENE) orbiter but more advanced.
Not really, animations here are made by reprojecting 2D-Moon image to a 3D-ball.
Animation is then calculated in 3D-software (TrueSpace from Galigari)
In this animation we are flying over the terminator zone of the half Moon.
On the Left side the Earth shine effect can be seen as a Bluish hue.
The online Video quality is very low doe the compression algorithm,

Stella Arcti Award 2009
I was onored by the Stella Arcti award in a category of amateur astronomy: by the Finnish National Amateur Astronomy association URSA.

Other two winners are Petri Kehusmaa and Mikko Päivinen in a category of astronomical discovery of the year, the Supernova 2008im.
